An unexpected appointment, a little matchmaking, and a love that was meant to be.

In August of 2022, Gustavo arrived in the United States, ready to begin a new chapter of his life. Little did he know that just a few months later, a routine dental cleaning would lead him to something far greater than a healthy smile.

That December, Gustavo searched his insurance portal for a dental office conveniently located between work and home. On the other end of his phone call was Madison, completely unaware that she was scheduling an appointment for her future husband.

On the morning of December 7th, 2022, Madison arrived at work expecting an ordinary Wednesday. After unlocking the office and turning on the lights, she noticed someone standing outside the windows, clutching his backpack and eagerly waiting to come inside.

Who could possibly be here this early?

She opened the door to find Gustavo, bright-eyed and ready for his appointment. Since he had arrived well before the rest of the staff, the two had time to chat and get to know each other.

Apparently, their connection didn't go unnoticed! After his cleaning, the hygienist, Shauna, told Madison she needed to see him again. There was just one little problem: Gustavo was a patient, and Madison knew she couldn't exactly ask him out.

Thankfully, Shauna had other plans.

Taking matters into her own hands, she called Gustavo and gave him Madison's phone number. Madison was absolutely mortified, but secretly excited. He sent her a message immediately. Later that afternoon, she worked up the courage to give him a call. One conversation turned into dinner plans that very evening.

And as it turns out, one dinner was all it took.

They've been choosing each other ever since.

Over the past four years, they've built a beautiful life together. They've moved in together, rescued their one-of-a-kind dog, Honey. They traveled to Florida, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Brazil, and Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula.

But their favorite moments are often the simplest ones: long walks through every season, swimming, pickleball, discovering coffee shops, or just sharing a glass of wine. They've learned that it doesn't really matter what they're doing, as long as they're doing it together.

Looking back, it's incredible how many little things had to fall into place. A move across the world, an insurance search, an early morning appointment, and a little help from a matchmaking hygienist.

What seemed like an ordinary Wednesday became the beginning of their favorite story.

Now, Madison and Gustavo can't wait to celebrate their love, the life they've built, and all the beautiful chapters still to come, surrounded by their favorite people.
